Pengaruh Kemampuan Manajerial Dan Motivasi Kepala Sekolah Terhadap Kinerja Guru SMP Se-Kecamatan Dumai Barat Kota Dumai
Teacher performance is basically a performance or performance carried out by teachers in carrying out their duties as educators (Suharsaputra, 2010) and (Rahman et al: 2005:72) states that, "Teacher performance can be assessed from the aspect of basic abilities that must be possessed by a teacher. known as "teacher competence". With regard to the competencies that professional teachers need to possess, Article 8 of UUGD 14 of 2005 say that there are four competencies that teachers must possess, namely: pedagogic, professional, personal, and social competencies. (society). The principal's managerial ability is a set of technical skills in carrying out his duties as school managers to utilize all available resources to achieve school goals effectively and efficiently (Akdon, 2002). In addition to the managerial ability of the principal, the level of work motivation of the principal is very influential on the performance achieved by the teacher at school. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the positive and significant influence of the principal's managerial ability on the performance of junior high school teachers in Dumai Barat District, Dumai City. And to find out and analyze the positive and significant influence of principal's motivation on the performance of junior high school teachers in Dumai Barat District, Dumai City. In addition, this study also aims to determine and analyze the positive and significant influence of managerial ability and principal's motivation on the performance of junior high school teachers in Dumai Barat District, Dumai City. This study uses a survey method with descriptive statistical data analysis techniques and inferential statistics in which there are three research variables, namely two independent variables consisting of managerial ability variables (X1), principal motivation (X2) and one dependent variable teacher performance (Y). The population in this study were all junior high school teachers in Dumai Barat District, Dumai City, totaling 137 people. Determination of the number of samples was carried out using the Yamane formula. The sample in this study was 102 of 137 teachers. The technique used in sampling is proportional random sampling. The data collection technique used in this research is a questionnaire. Questionnaire is a data collection technique that is done by giving a set of written statements to respondents to answer. The questionnaire in this study consisted of statement items related to managerial ability, principal's motivation and teacher performance. The technique used in data analysis is descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. The results of the descriptive research show that the teacher performance category is in the medium category, which is 33 (32,35%), the managerial ability category is in the low category, which is 39 (38,23)%, the principal motivation

category is in the low category, which is 40 (39). ,22)%. Based on the hypothesis test and the correlation coefficient, it was found that, first, for the influence that occurs on managerial ability on teacher performance, the regression coefficient formed is 0.603 which means that the strength of the influence between managerial abilities on teacher performance is strong. From the calculation of the coefficient of determination obtained rx1.y = 0.776a = 0.603 or 60.3%. This means that 60.3% of the variance in teacher performance can be explained by managerial ability through the regression equation = 25.759 + 0.827X1. The regression equation = 25.759 + 0.827X1 means that every increase in one unit of managerial ability score is followed by an increase in teacher performance scores of 0.827 at a constant of 25.759. Second, the second hypothesis which reads that the results of the study indicate that for the effect that occurs on the principal's motivation on teacher performance, the regression coefficient formed is 0.635 which means that the influence of the principal's motivation on teacher performance is significant in the strong category. From the calculation of the coefficient of determination obtained rx2.y = 0.797a = 0.635 or 63.5%. This means that 63.5% of the variance in teacher performance can be explained by the principal's motivation through the regression equation = 24.898 + 0.877 X2. The equation = 24,898 + 0,877 X2 means that every increase in one unit of the principal's motivation score will be followed by an increase in the teacher's performance score of 0,877 at a constant 24,898.Third, the third hypothesis which reads that the results of the study indicate that to determine the managerial ability of the principal and the principal's motivation together on teacher performance, the regression coefficient formed is 0.838 which means the strength of the influence of managerial ability and principal's motivation together on teacher performance. is very strong. From the calculation of the coefficient of determination is rx1.x2.y = 0.838a = 0.702 or 70.2%. This means that 70.2% of the variance in teacher performance in the multiple regression equation can be explained by the managerial ability and motivation of the principal together through the regression equation = 15.525 + 0.428 X1 + 0.539 X2. The regression equation = 15.525 + 0.428 X1 + 0,539 X2 means that each increase of one unit of managerial ability score and principal's motivation together can increase the teacher's performance score by 0.428 and 0.539 at a constant of 15.525, respectively. Key Words : Managerial Ability, Principal's Motivation, Teacher Performance
