Kelimpahan Mikroplastik Pada Ekosistem Perairan Teluk Keriting Kota Tanjung Pinang Provinsi Kepulauan Riau
This study aims to analyze the type and abundance of microplastics in
seawater with shrimp, in sediments with demersal fish and analyze the
community's contribution to the type and abundance of microplastics in seawater,
sediments, fish and shrimp in the waters of Teluk Keriting.
The sampling station was determined by purposive sampling, which was
taken to coincide with the east monsoon so that the winds and currents were quite
strong. The samples taken were samples of seawater, sediment, fish and shrimp in
the waters of Teluk Keriting.
The types and abundance of microplastics were found in seawater and
shrimp in the waters of Teluk Keriting namely fiber, fragment and film. The
results of simple linear regression analysis between the abundance of
microplastics in pelagic fish (shrimp) and seawater showed a positive relationship
with a weak correlation coefficient value.
The types of microplastics in sediments are fiber, fragments, films and
pellets with the dominant color being brown. While the types of microplastics in
demersal fish are fiber, fragments, and films. The results of simple linear
regression analysis between the abundance of microplastics in demersal fish and
sediments showed a positive relationship with the correlation coefficient value
being very weak.
The community's contribution in the form of plastic waste to the abundance
of microplastics in the waters produced from the location (home/business place)
is in the medium category (30.30%), in addition to waste in the form of leftovers
(30.30%) and paperboard (30.30%). Most of the waste in the form of plastic that
is thrown into the waters is from the type of food/beverage packaging and plastic
bags (each with a value of 34.19%). In terms of plastic waste management, 70%
is disposed of to the TPA/TPS and the remaining 30% is dumped into the
river/sea.
