Pengaruh Kecerdasan Emosional Dan Lingkungan Kerja Terhadap Kompetensi Sosial Guru SD Negeri Di Kecamatan Limapuluh Kota Pekanbaru
The teacher is the most important element in the world of education, the teacher plays a dual role, namely as a teacher and educator which is one of the determining factors for the success of education. As a teacher, the teacher is in charge of providing a number of subject matter to students. Meanwhile, as educators, teachers are tasked with guiding and fostering the behavior of students so that they become capable, active, creative, and independent human beings. In carrying out his work a teacher must have competencies that are in accordance with his field and responsibilities, teachers are required to have four competencies, namely pedagogical competence, personal competence, social competence and professional competence. The teacher as an educator and teacher is someone who interacts directly with students, this requires a teacher to have good social competence. Social competence is the ability of a teacher to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, school principals, education staff, parents and guardians, and the community in the school environment. Social competence is needed by teachers to collaborate with other people. Good social competence requires teachers to establish beneficial relationships between people, teachers will be easy to convey learning in class, teachers will easily interact with colleagues, even superiors, and teachers can establish good cooperation with parents of students aimed at educational attainment. Jamaris (2012) said that teachers in interacting with others need emotional intelligence and a good work environment, so as to produce good social competence.
This research examines: (1) Is there a positive and significant influence between emotional intelligence on the social competence of public elementary school teachers in Limapuluh District, Pekanbaru City?; (2) Is there a positive and significant influence between the work environment on the social competence of public elementary school teachers in Limapuluh Kota Pekanbaru?; (3) Is there a positive and significant influence between emotional intelligence and work environment on the social competence of public elementary school teachers in Limapuluh Kota Pekanbaru? The objectives of this study are: (1) To find out and analyze whether there is a positive and significant influence of emotional intelligence on the social competence of public elementary school teachers in Limapuluh District, Pekanbaru City; (2) To find out and analyze whether there is a positive and significant effect of the work environment on the social competence of public elementary school teachers in Limapuluh Kota Pekanbaru District; (3) To find out and analyze whether there is a positive and significant influence of emotional intelligence and the work environment on the social competence of public elementary school teachers in Limapuluh District, Pekanbaru City.
This study uses a quantitative approach to the type of research ex post fact. The technique in this study was carried out to analyze the effect of the two

independent variables, namely emotional intelligence (X1), work environment (X2), on one dependent variable, namely the teacher's social competence (Y). The population in this study were all public elementary school teachers in Limapuluh Kota Pekanbaru with a total of 226 teachers. Then the research sample was 145 public elementary school students in Limapuluh Kota Pekanbaru, who were randomly selected using the Slovin formula. The trial was conducted on 82 teachers who were taken outside the research sample. The data collection technique is in the form of an instrument in the form of a questionnaire. Meanwhile, the techniques used to process and analyze the data in this study were descriptive statistical analysis techniques and inferential statistics. The research data were analyzed using the SPSS (statistical package for social science) Version.23 program.
The results showed that there was a positive and significant influence of emotional intelligence on the social competence of SD Negeri Limapuluh Kota Pekanbaru teachers by 43.8% while the remaining 56.2% was influenced by other factors; there is a positive relationship and a significant effect of work environment variables on the social competence of teachers of SD Negeri Limapuluh Kota Pekanbaru by 40.3% while the remaining 59.7% is influenced by other factors; then obtained a positive relationship and significant influence of emotional intelligence and work environment variables on the social competence of SD Negeri Limapuluh Kota Pekanbaru teachers by 50.8%, while the remaining 49.2% is influenced by other factors.
Based on these findings, it can be concluded that emotional intelligence and the work environment can determine the level of social competence of teachers. Teachers with high emotional intelligence are able to manage their own emotions and understand the emotions of others, while a good work environment will make teachers feel comfortable at school and interacting with school members. Without good emotional intelligence, the teacher will have difficulty carrying out the learning process and will even have difficulty interacting with others. Likewise, a rushed work environment will result in poor performance and will have an impact on learning. Therefore emotional intelligence and work environment can determine the level of social competence of teachers.
