Pengaruh Kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah Dan Pengembangan Karir Guru Terhadap Loyalitas Guru Yayasan Titian Bazma Dumai
Education is the main key for a country to excel in global competition. To
produce a good quality of human resources, professionals in the world of
education are needed who can carry out their duties and responsibilities well in
educating students, namely teachers. But professionalism is not the only thing that
a teacher should have. To maintain the effectiveness and productivity of a school,
it requires human resources who are dedicated, committed, obedient to
regulations, have a sense of responsibility and willingness to work together and
love their work, which is also referred to as loyalty. A loyal teacher will dedicate
himself to the betterment of the school. There are many factors that affect a
teacher's loyalty, including the leadership of the principal and the career
development of teachers. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of
principal leadership and teachers career development on teachers loyalty at
Yayasan Titian Bazma Dumai, both simultaneously and partially.
Teachers loyalty can be judged from several indicators : 1) Obeying the
rules, 2) Honesty, 3) Responsibility to the school, 4) Willingness to cooperate, 5)
A sense of belonging, 6) Interpersonal relationships, and 7) Love of work.
Effective principal leadership can be judged from several indicators : 1) Having a
clear vision and mission, 2) Communication ability, 3) Decision-making ability,
4) Ability to give motivation, 5) Exemplary, 6) Ability to control subordinates, 7)
Ability to control emotions, and 8) Responsibility. Meanwhile, the teachers career
development process can be judged from several indicators : 1) Organizational
policy, 2) Work performance, 3) Education, 4) Training, 5) Mutation, 6)
Promotion of position, and 7) Period of service.
The research was conducted at Yayasan Titian Bazma Dumai with a total
research population of 68 teachers. Research data were collected through the
dissemination of questionnaires using the Likert scale. Hypothesis testing in this
study uses multiple linear regression analysis using the help of SPSS 25 software
to test the influence of variables X1 and X2 simultaneously on variable Y.
Furthermore, from the results of the multiple linear regression analysis will be
analyzed the influence of variables X1 and X2 partially on variable Y.
The results of this study show that simultaneously, there is a significant
and positive influence of principal leadership and teachers career development on
teachers loyalty at Yayasan Titian Bazma Dumai, which is indicated by the
regression equation ̂ . The strength of the
relationship between principal leadership and teachers career development with
teachers loyalty is relatively strong, as can be seen from the R correlation
coefficient of 0,717. The magnitude of the influence of principal leadership and
teachers career development on teachers loyalty is 0.513 or 51.3% and the
remaining 48.7% is influenced by other variables that were not studied. Partially,
there is a significant and positive influence of principal leadership on teachers
loyalty at Yayasan Titian Bazma Dumai. The strength of the relationship between

principal leadership and teachers loyalty is relatively strong, as can be seen from
the R correlation coefficient of 0,607. The magnitude of the influence of principal
leadership on teachers loyalty is based on the effective contribution value is
19,0% and based on the relative contribution value is 37%. Furthermore, there is
a significant and positive influence of teachers career development on teachers
loyalty at Yayasan Titian Bazma Dumai. The strength of the relationship between
teachers career development and teachers loyalty is relatively strong, as can be
seen from the correlation coefficient R of 0,672. The magnitude of the effect of
teachers career development on teachers loyalty based on the effective
contribution value is 32.3% and based on the relative contribution value is 63%.
Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the better the
principal's leadership and the teacher's career development program in the
school, the higher the loyalty possessed by the teacher, the better the leadership
applied by the principal, the higher the loyalty possessed by the teacher, and the
better the teachers career development program in the school, the higher the
loyalty possessed by the teacher. Thus it can be said that all three hypotheses
proposed in the study are acceptable.
