Penentuan Komoditas Dan Kawasan Unggulan Subsektor Tanaman Pangan Di Kabupaten Tanah Datar
Implementing a regional development strategy based on leading sectors is
one of the actions made to improve the local community's economy. By identifying
and tracking a region's potential to implement competitive, high-value agriculture
operations that will contribute to enhanced regional income. This study's goal was
to discover and evaluate the best products and regions in Tanah Datar Regency,
West Sumatra Province, for the food crops subsector.
The Central Bureau of Statistics of Tanah Datar Regency provided time
series data for the production of the food crops sub-sector for the study's five-year
period, or from 2017 to 2021. The Sectoral Contribution Index (SCI), Growth Ratio
Model (GRM), Location Quotient (LQ), Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ), and
Composite Index (CI) are among the analytical techniques used to identify superior
food crop products.
The findings revealed that peanuts, rice, cassava, and sweet potatoes were
the top commodities in the very high category because they contributed more than
any other commodity and had average production growth ratios that stood out
when compared to production growth at the district level, which was taken into
account in the sector criteria. with the exception of cassava and sweet potato, and
it has the ability to do so in the near future. According to the composite index, Tanah
Datar District's superior areas have very high categories for seven food crop
commodities, including rice (Districts of Sungai Tarab, Batipuh, Lintau Buo Utara,
and Sepuluh Koto), corn (Districts of Rambatan and Sungai Tarab), soy (Padang
Ganting District), peanuts (Salimpaung and Batipuh Selatan Districts), green
beans (Districts of Rambatan and Pariangan District). The base area includes all
of these sub-districts, which are all superior places with the highest contribution
value, a notable regional growth ratio, and the potential to become base areas in
the future.
