Pemanfaatan Limbah Cair Kelapa Sawit Untuk Media Kultur Dan Analisis Komposisi Kimia Mikroalga Skeletonema Costatum
This research was carried out in October-December 2022 at the SUPM
Natural Feed Laboratory / Pariaman Marine and Fisheries Polytechnic. The
purpose of the study was to obtain a dose of palm oil liquid waste suitable for the
Skeletonema costatum microalgae culture media, analyze the chemical
composition of S. costatum microalgae, identify the ability of S. costatum to utilize
the nitrate and phosphate content present in palm oil liquid waste, see the effect of
water quality that has been polluted with palm oil liquid waste on the abundance
of S. costatum.
The method used is an experimental method with a one-factor Complete
Randomized Design (RAL) consisting of 6 (six) levels of treatment and 3 (three)
repeats. The treatment is 0%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% and 30%.
The results showed that palm oil liquid waste affects the abundance of S.
costatum. The best treatment for S. costatum culture media is 30% of palm liquid
waste with an abundance of 329,260 cells/mL, biomass (dry weight) 7.27 g,
chlorophyll-a 0.84. The nitrate and phosphate content was 0.759 mg/L and 0.301
mg/L, respectively. The conditions of the temperature and pH water quality
parameters are respectively 16 0C and 8.2. The best protein, fat and carbohydrate
content was obtained in a medium of 30% of palm waste (P5), which was 30.70%,
0.291%, 21.96%, respectively.
