Lightweight brick is an alternative building material for walls that has a lower density than red brick and concrete brick in general, so it can reduce the load received by the structure and reduce the dimensions of the structure. Lightweight brick has a weakness in terms of compressive strength. Lightweight bricks can be made by adding additives to improve quality so they can carry heavier loads, including using waste such asfly ash which is a coal combustion waste whose particles are finer than cement portland and has pozzolanic and splastic properties polypropylene which has good mechanical properties in terms of ductility and heat resistance and is able to strengthen concrete against cracking. The purpose of this study is to determine the levels of usefly ash and fiberpolypropylene optimum to obtain lightweight bricks with maximum compressive strength then analyze the modulus of elasticity properties of lightweight bricks without and with additions fly ash and fiber polypropylene. Study this uses compositional variation with ratefly ash by 10% and 15% and fiber polypropylene 1%, and 1% by weight of cement in a sample cube with a side length of 10 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm. Compressive strength testing was carried out at the age of 7, 14, 28 and 56 days, while testing displacement (shortening) performed at 28 days. The compressive strength and shortening results were then used to analyze the modulus of elasticity for lightweight bricks. Based on the results of research variationsfly ash 10% and fiber polypropylene 5% can increase the compressive strength value of 24.32% and 139.808% elastic modulus with value displacement 11.35mm. So it can be concluded that the addition fly ash and polypropylene at rate fly ash 10% and fiber polypropylene 5% can increase the compressive strength and elastic modulus of lightweight bricks, thus adding fly ash and polypropylene in a light brick mixture can be used as an innovation and reference for further research.
