Pengaruh Efikasi Diri Dan Disiplin Kerja Terhadap Kompetensi Supervisi Kepala SD Negeri Kota Pekanbaru
The success of an educational institution is highly dependent on the
leadership of the principal. According to the Regulation of the Minister of
National Education Number 13 of 2007 concerning Standards for
School/Madrasah Principals, it has a logical implication that the principal as the
highest leader in a school is required to have five competency dimensions, namely
the dimensions of personality, managerial, entrepreneurial, supervision, and
social competence. Principals are expected to become leaders in learning, assess
and develop teacher skills, set and monitor specific work targets, and act as
motivators for the entire school community. A school principal must also have
supervisory competence, as the school principal's supervisor is tasked with
assisting teachers in solving problems in class. In addition to this, the supervision
carried out by the principal is basically an attempt to provide services to teachers
both individually and in groups in an effort to improve learning. To do this,
school principals are required to have good supervision competence so that
supervision can run well.
This research will examine: (1) Is there a positive and significant influence
between Self-Efficacy on the Supervision Competence of the Principal of
Pekanbaru City Public Elementary School?; (2) Is there a positive and significant
influence between Work Discipline on the Supervision Competence of the
Principal of Pekanbaru City Public Elementary School?; and (3) Is there a jointly

the Supervision Competence of the Principal of Pekanbaru City Public
Elementary School?. The objectives of this research are: (1) To explain and

Principal of SD Negeri Pekanbaru City is 49.1% with a moderate interpretation,

research; the positive influence and significant relationship of the work discipline
variable (X2) to the competence of supervision (Y) of the Principal of Pekanbaru
City Public Elementary School was 50.6% while the remaining 48.4% was
determined by other factors that were not part of this study; and found a positive

Based on these findings it can be concluded that self-efficacy has an
influence on the supervision competence of school principals. With high selfefficacy
the principal is able to improve his supervision competence and is able to
improve teacher performance and school quality. Then work discipline affects the
competence of the principal's supervision. The better the principal's discipline, the
better the principal's supervision competency. Furthermore, it was found that
school principals with good or high self-efficacy and work discipline were able to
carry out their duties properly and optimally and could improve the ability of
school principals to carry out supervision or supervisors with the aim of
advancing the school.
