The learning process in the classroom there is still a teaching and
learning process using conventional methods so that this triggers students to
become passive and less creative in ongoing learning. This study aims to improve
social studies learning outcomes for class VIII students of SMPN 1 Simpang
Kanan, Rokan Hilir Regency. This research method uses quasi-experimental
quantitative methods. Based on this background, the title was taken, namely "The
Influence of Cooperative Script Learning Methods to Improve Social Studies
Learning Outcomes for Class VIII Students of SMPN 1 Simpang Kanan, Rokan
Hilir Regency". This study shows that the social studies learning outcomes of
students before the Cooperative Script method was treated can be seen from the
average pretest scores of students under the KKM and the social studies learning
outcomes of students after the Cooperative Script method was applied, the posttest
scores of students in the experimental class were 84.37 and the control class were
80.45. that if the value of tcount = 2.029 and ttable = 2.012. So that tcount >
