Pemetaan Kawasan Rawan Banjir Di Kota Tanjungpinang Menggunakan GEE (Google Earth Engine)
Tanjungpinang City have an impact on residents such as damage to houses and
educational facilities. Preventing and mitigating floods that occur periodically
requires data in flooded areas for the solution to be right on target. However, the
availability of data related to flood events that occurred during the 2017-2021
period in Tanjungpinang City has not been completed with the area of the flood
area. Therefore, mapping flood areas in Tanjungpinang City is needed as a
consideration in determining appropriate mitigation efforts and actions following
the conditions of the Tanjungpinang City area. Flood area mapping was carried
out using remote sensing methods using GEE (Google Earth Engine) as a tool to
extract and process sentinel-1 images. The use of GEE was chosen with
consideration of processing time efficiency because it can skip the process of
downloading sentinel-1 images and image processing can be directly carried out
at the same time. The results of the study identified that the characteristics of
extreme rainfall which were used as parameters for flood events in this study
temporally occurred in January, April, and December. Meanwhile, the spatial
characteristics of extreme rain that occurred in Tanjungpinang City during 2017-
2021 were the highest in the Tanjungpinang Barat District area. The results of
mapping the flood areas in Tanjungpinang City for 2017-2021 using GEE
identified that the largest area of inundated areas occurred on January 10 2021
with a total area of 412.635 Ha and the most vulnerable area was in West
Tanjungpinang District with a vulnerability percentage of 19.995%. The
validation of the use of GEE in this study uses historical data from the
Tanjungpinang City BPBD flood point. As a result, the flood event points mapped
by GEE can display the same points as the location point data collected by the
Tanjungpinang City BPBD.
