Rasio Arang Kulit Buah Kakao Dan Arang Batang Bambu Terhadap Mutu Briket
ABSTRACT
Increased population activity has an impact on the high energy demand. Alternative energy that can be developed is briquettes from biomass waste such as cocoa pod shells and bamboo stems because they contain high levels of carbon such as cellulose and lignin. The purpose of this research was to obtain the best ratio from the combination of cocoa pod shell charcoal and bamboo stem charcoal based on SNI No. 01-6235-2000. This research was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of five treatments and four replications. The treatments in this study included the ratio of cocoa pod shell charcoal and bamboo stem charcoal 30:70, 40:60, 50:50, 60:40, and 70:30. Data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and then continued with Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at 5% level. The results of the analysis showed that the ratio of cocoa pod shell charcoal and bamboo stem charcoal had a significant effect on moisture content, ash content, volatile matter content, bound carbon content, and calorific value. The best treatment briquettes was KB1 (30:70) which consisted of 13.5 g of cocoa pod shell charcoal and 31.50 g of bamboo stem charcoal with the results of an analysis of 5.61% moisture content, 4.72% ash content, 32.03% volatile matter content, bound carbon content of 57.64%, and calorific value of 5,893.15 cal/g.
