The game of volleyball is very popular with the community because the game is easy to play, it can be played by men and women, young and old alike, the game of volleyball is a game in which each team consists of 6 players. In volleyball games there are also basic volleyball techniques, namely under passing, over passing, over serving, under serving, smash and block. Servicing is one of the most important skills, with good service it will make it difficult for the opponent to receive the ball, and if the ball is not received properly then the serving team will get additional points without having to do another attack.
When serving in volleyball, the psychological side of each team member is also influential. Psychology is a major determinant of performance in sports. One side of psychology that quite affects the performance of players is anxiety disorders. It is often found that an athlete who has prepared his condition well to face a match suddenly experiences difficulties or distractions while competing, so he cannot take part in the competition. Therefore, coaches need to provide mental training through physical and technical training in order to overcome anxiety in playing volleyball.
Based on observations made by researchers in the field, it shows that from the volleyball matches that they participate in, junior female volleyball athletes from the Kapila volleyball association often experience points behind, this is caused by athletes who often make mistakes during the top serve. There are lots of top serve errors that are often made by athletes starting from the ball that does not cross the net, the ball that exceeds the playing field or out ball, and the foot that touches the playing field line, while during training the athlete is able to perform a good upper serve. This is because athletes find it difficult to control anxiety properly while competing. In addition to the pressure from within themselves, the athletes' anxiety is also shown in external factors in the form of unbalanced cheers from the audience and opponents so that athletes do not have good mental control during the match. For this reason, researchers are interested in conducting research with the title "The Relationship between Anxiety and Service Accuracy for Junior Women's Volleyball Athletes, Kapila Volleyball Association, Tanjungpinang City".
