Perancangan Urban Farming Learning Center Di Pekanbaru Dengan Pendekatan Arsitektur Biofilik

ABSTRACT
Urban farming is a plant cultivation activity carried out in urban areas with the aim of obtaining food. Urban farming activities themselves are based on problems that arise in urban areas where land availability is reduced. Infrastructure development in Pekanbaru such as commercial buildings as well as housing as well as an increase in consumption needs is a direct impact of an increase in population. Urban farming can be a solution for the people of Pekanbaru to get food for this problem. But in Pekanbaru itself urban farming is still an agricultural technology that still has obstacles in its implementation. Some of them are, namely, the community is unable to accept new technology which is only material without simulation of how it works, limited community tools as a supporting factor for the success of urban farming , the unavailability of a meeting place as a means of supporting extension activities. To deal with this problem, an idea emerged to design an Urban Farming Learning Center in Pekanbaru with a biophilic architectural approach. Through this design, it is hoped that it can provide knowledge to the community by providing space for learning and gathering so that the community can feel the benefits and become a place for counseling, learning and research. The design approach to this building itself uses the Biophilic Architecture approach because this approach is expected to be able to create harmony between buildings, users and nature.
