Student Center Universitas Riau Dengan Penekanan Pencahayaan Alami
ABSTRACT
The Student Center is a place for students to have activities outside of formal activities on campus. Riau University, on its main campus, the Binawidya campus, does not yet have proper and complete facilities to accommodate these various activities. The absence of existing facilities and facilities causes various problems with student activities that are sheltered by various Student Activity Units. One of them is poor natural lighting in the room. Poor natural lighting in the room causes various negative effects on student activities. Good natural lighting is appropriate in quantity and quality. Quantity is the amount of incoming light. Each room that has a different function has its own standard quantity. In general, natural light with a comfort level is at the level of 300-3000 lux. Sizes below 300 lux generally require artificial lighting, then lighting above 3000 lux tends to produce visual and thermal discomfort. The quality of natural light is how it has a beautiful and comfortable visual. Various strategies to control the use of natural lighting, namely by paying attention to the orientation, shape and mass of buildings, openings, solar shading and techniques for entering the light itself. The purpose of this research is how to obtain the design results of the Riau University Student Center building which has the right facilities according to the needs after going through various data collection and study forms. Then the results of the design have the right natural lighting in quality and quantity. The results of the quantity of natural lighting are measured by software simulation in order to find out the size achieved is in accordance with existing standards.
