Karakteristik Briket Arang Ampas Tebu Dengan Penambahan Arang Cangkang Buah Kelapa Sawit
ABSTRACT
Bagasse and palm oil shell are biomass waste that can be used in the form of charcoal briquettes as an alternative source of energy because the contain lignin and cellulose. The purpose of this research was to obtain the best character briquettes from a combination bagasse charcoal and palm oil shell charcoal. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) which consist of five treatments and three replication. The treatment in this research include ratio of bagasse charcoal and palm oil shell charcoal 90:10, 80:20, 70:30, 60:40, and 50:50. Data were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and then continued with Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level. The result of analysis showed that the ratio of bagasse charcoal and oil palm shell charcoal affect on density, water content, fix carbon content, ash content, and calorific value. The best treatment briquettes was (50:50) with density content 0.72 g/cm3, water content 6.35%, volatile matter content 11.04%, ash content 5.76%, fixed carbon content 70.64% and calorific value of 6,581 cal/g.
