Perancangan Mesin Pembelah Pinang Menggunakan Metode Quality Function Deployment (Qfd)
ABSTRACT
One of the areas in Riau Province that produces areca nut is Idragiri Hilir Regency, especially Kembang Mekar Sari Village, but the cleavage process still uses the manual method so that the resulting production cannot be in large quantities. The purpose of this research is to design a areca splitting machine that is in accordance with the wishes of the community so that the areca splitting process can be optimized so that the areca splitting production process increases. The method used in the design of the areca splitting machine is the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method, which is expected to meet the machine criteria based on the wishes of the community. Based on the results of the Quality Function deployment (QFD) method, the results of the areca splitter machine design are obtained with machine dimensions, namely: Height 1370 mm, width 460 mm, and length 850 mm. The areca nut splitting machine uses a conducting knife and a splitting knife which is driven using a 1.5 HP electric motor with a rotation of 1400 rpm. The transmission system uses Pulley s and V-belts, the dimensions of the drive Pulley are 95 mm in diameter and the driven Pulley is 222 mm in diameter, while the V-belt used is a type A V-belt with a length of 1397 mm. The benefit of this research is that it is expected that the areca splitting machine is easy to operate and capable of producing a lot of capacity in a short time.
