An Analysis Of Metaphor In The Advertisements Of Drink Products
This research aims to identify and describe the types of metaphors used by advertisers in Advertisements of Drink Products and to discover the dominant type of metaphor. This qualitative research with analysis method. The data source was obtained from advertisements that appeared on internet media which were observed from Monday, June 20th, 2022 until June 26th, 2022 the data obtained was collected and analyzed only on beverage product advertisements. There were 34 collected data that contained metaphor. Structural metaphor appears 20 times, orientational metaphor appears 10 times and ontological metaphor appears 4 times. Based on research findings, it can be concluded that structural metaphor is the dominant type of metaphor used by advertisers to convey advertisements messages which influence consumers. It is suggested that future research who are interested in metaphor needed it is deepen analysis since media advertisements keep changing through time so that they can provide new results.
