ABSTRACT
THE ASSOCIATION BETWEEN URINARY TRACT INFECTION AND PREMATURE RUPTURE OF MEMBRANES AT ARIFIN ACHMAD HOSPITAL PROVINCE

Background : Pregnant women are a group of people who receive special attention in health services, where urinary tract infection (UTI) is a problem that is often associated with pregnant women. UTIs can trigger preterm labor and premature rupture of membranes (PROM), where bacteria can spread to the uterus and amniotic fluid, triggering inflammation and causing premature rupture of the amniotic membranes.
Objective : to determine the association between urinary tract infections and premature rupture of membranes at Arifin Achmad Riau Hospital Province for the period June 2021-May 2022
Methods : The research method is a retrospective analytic with a cross-sectional approach. The number of research samples was 276 people. Urinary tract infection is an independent variable while premature rupture of membranes is the dependent variable.
Results : The results of bivariate analysis showed a relationship between urinary tract infections and premature rupture of membranes with a value of p = 0.002 which is less than 0.05 (p>α).
Conclusion : Urinary tract infection not related to premature rupture of membranes at Arifin Achmad Riau Hospital Province.
