Organs that are weighed after death play a very important role in concluding
the cause of a death. The heart is one of the organs that is weighed because it can
be used as a marker of disease and abnormalities in the heart. This study aims to
assess the average post mortem cardiac weight, assess the average cardiac organ
weight based on age and sex and determine the number of origins of the resort
police requesting Visum et Repertum. The design of this study is a retrospective
descriptive by observing the Visum et Repertum report. This study has a total
sample of 161 people. The results of the research examined at the Bhayangkara
Hospital Pekanbaru for the 2016-2021 period for the average weight of the heart
organs there were 161 dead victims who were autopsied. The results of the study
for the average weight of the heart organ for victims is 251.31 grams. The results
showed that men's heart weight (263.54 grams) was heavier than women's heart
weight (214.58 grams). The results of the study of heart weight at the ages of 21-25
years (210.13 grams), ages 26-45 years (252.60 grams), and ages 46-65 years
(281.70 grams). The average weight of the heart organ in the 46-65 year age
category is greater than in other age categories. The results showed that the origin
of the most requesting resort police was Pekanbaru City 23.6%.
