Pengembangan E-Modul Untuk Meningkatkan Motivasi Dan Penguasaan Konsep Siswa Pada Materi Protista Kelas X
Learning in the world of education today must adapt to the needs of the 21st century which requires humans to have the ability to learn and innovate, media, information and technology, as well as life skills (Fazriyah, 2016). Technological developments in the 21st century make people think more creatively and maximize existing systems and require humans to increase their resources (Subarkah et al, 2017). Information and communication technology is one of the interactive media used in long-distance interactions, so that ICT can facilitate learning during a period of rapid development of technology and communication. E-module is one of the innovative teaching materials that can be utilized in current technological developments.
The results of observations that have been made from several schools in Indragiri Hulu, namely in the Rakit Kulim sub-district (appendix 1), it is known that almost 100% of teachers who teach and support biology subjects rarely use innovative teaching materials such as e-modules. While the results of observations made at SMA Negeri 2 Rakit Kulim, teachers in charge of biology said that it was difficult for students to understand protist material. The teaching materials used still use old teaching materials, thus making students' enthusiasm and motivation low when learning. Low student enthusiasm and motivation also affect student learning outcomes, especially in student mastery of concepts.
Based on the background of the problems above, researchers are interested in implementing discovery learning with e-modules to increase students' motivation and mastery of concepts. This research was conducted in two stages, namely the development stage and the product implementation stage. The product development stage was carried out at the Biology Education Masters Study Program, Faculty of Teaching and Education, University of Riau. While the product implementation stage is carried out at SMA Negeri 2 Rakit Kulim in the odd semester of class X for the 2022/2023 academic year.
The results of e-module product development validation on media expert validation were 4.87, pedagogic expert validation 4.44 and material expert validation 4.1 and overall a mean score of 4.47 was obtained in a very valid category. The results of the practicality of e-module development on protist material with an assessment of 2 aspects in the form of design/appearance aspects and programming aspects, got a score of 84.71 in the very practical category and can be used in learning. The implementation of e-module development on student learning motivation in the experimental class scored 88% in the very good category, and in the control class 67% in the good category. Whereas in the results of students' mastery of the concept in the experimental class, the N-gain value was 0.66 in the medium category and the control class was 0.44 in the
