Current learning requires the ability to integrate information technology in
order to obtain effective and efficient learning. The use of technology in the learning
process requires the ability to integrate the three basic components of learning,
namely content knowledge, pedagogical knowledge and technological knowledge.
The problem is that currently the role of technology in learning cannot be utilized
optimally by some educators. The results of previous research show that there are still
teachers who do not master technology in learning, even for most teachers the use of
technology in learning is still a complicated and difficult task. This study aims to look
at the TPACK abilities of Chemistry teachers in Kuantan Singingi Regency and
Pekanbaru City. The method used in this study is a descriptive quantitative type of
survey research. The research sample was 123 high school, Madrasah Aliah
chemistry teachers in Kuantan Singingi Regency and Pekanbaru City in the odd
semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. Sampling using simple random sampling
technique. The data collection technique used is through questionnaires, interviews,
and analysis of relevant source documents or literature. The research results are
presented based on gender, certification status, work location, and work years. Based
on gender, male teachers have slightly better TPACK abilities than female teachers.
Based on certification status, the TPACK ability of certified teachers is better than
teachers who are not certified. Based on work location, teachers in Pekanbaru City
are better than teachers in Kuantan Singingi Regency. Based on years of service,
teachers with 20 years of service are teachers who have very good TPACK abilities.
The results obtained were then analyzed descriptively quantitatively. Based on these
results it was found that the TPACK ability of chemistry teachers in Kuantan
Singingi and Pekanbaru City was good.
