The background of this research is due to the low Algebraic Thinking Ability (KBA) of students. This study aims to produce valid and practical mathematics learning tools to facilitate students' KBA on the material of the Two-Variable Linear Equation System in class VIII SMP / MTs Pekanbaru.
This learning device development research uses ADDIE model development research (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The learning devices developed are syllabus, lesson plans, and LKPD. The instruments used are validity data instruments and practicality data instruments. Validity data instruments are obtained from validation sheets. Practicality data instruments are obtained from student response questionnaires and observation sheets.
The first stage is the analysis stage. At the analysis stage, it is divided into three activities, namely needs analysis, curriculum analysis and analysis of learner characteristics. The needs analysis was carried out to find out the main problems in developing learning devices where researchers conducted observations and interviews with mathematics teachers in class VIII SMP / MTs pekanbaru. Furthermore, researchers conducted a curriculum analysis which included the description of KI, KD and IPK which became the basis for developing learning devices on the material of two-variable linear persaaan systems through observations of learning devices and interviews with 8th grade mathematics teachers at SMP / MTs pekanbaru. And then, an analysis of the characteristics of students is carried out to identify student characteristics that are adjusted in the preparation of learning devices. At this stage, researchers conducted a preliminary study, namely the KBA test which aims to determine the KBA possessed by students.
The design stage carried out is to choose the format of mathematics learning devices, namely the syllabus format, lesson plans, and LKPD in accordance with the analysis stage on the material of the system of linear equations of two variables. Furthermore, researchers designed the initial design of learning devices and learning device assessment instruments, namely syllabus validation sheets, lesson plan validation sheets, and LKPD validation sheets.
Devlopment stage, researchers develop learning tools, namely syllabus, lesson plans, and LKPD according to the design that has been designed at the design stage. The learning devices that have been developed are then discussed with the supervisor which aims to obtain suggestions and input on the devices developed so that they become better, so that the learning devices are ready to be validated by the selected validators and the LKPD made are evaluated one to one. Then, validation of learning devices was carried out by validators totaling 3 validators and one to one evaluation of tests to 3 students of high, medium, and low abilities.
Implementation stage, after revisions from validators, the draft LKPD was tested on a small group of 9 students at Babussalam Pekanbaru Junior High School with high, medium and low ability students. After the trial, the researcher gave a

learner response questionnaire to obtain data on learner responses and the readability of the LKPD. If it is practical, the resulting product has met the criteria of valid and practical, but if not, the revision is done first.
Evaluation stage, can occur in 4 stages analysis, design, development and implementation with the aim of revision. At the design stage, the device design is revised based on suggestions and criticisms from the supervisor. Furthermore, at the development stage, the learning device is validated by 3 validators which, if not valid, are revised first by taking into account the suggestions of the validators so that the learning device meets the valid criteria. Furthermore, during the limited trial process, there were several suggestions from students as suggestions for improvement or stage II revision. And in the evaluation group trial which was carried out based on suggestions and input by students through response lifts and observation sheets.
Based on the results of data analysis of learning device validation for the syllabus obtained 3.54 with a very valid category, for the lesson plan obtained 3.52 with a very valid category and mathematical communication ability questions obtained 3.44 with a very valid category. for LKPD obtained 3.47 with a very valid category. Thus, the learning tools developed are feasible to be tested. The results of the analysis of the readability of LKPD in small groups obtained 86.98% with a very valid category and the results of the readability of LKPD in the large group trial were 86.04%. And the results of the wide practicality of observations at all meetings were 96.09% with a very practical category. Thus, it can be concluded that the learning tools developed are valid and practical.
