Dampak Peremajaan (Replanting) Kelapa Sawit Terhadap Kondisi Sosial Ekonomi Pekebun Di Desa Kumain Kecamatan Tandun Kabupaten Rokan Hulu
ABSTRACT
Palm oil has a productive age of 25 years. During this time the tree will produce fruit that planters can use for sale. After 25 years, oil palm needs to be rejuvenated. This will have an impact on the socio-economic conditions of smallholders. Therefore, the author is interested in conducting research with the aim of determining the impact of rejuvenation on social, economic, and smallholder conditions. The research was conducted in Kumain Village, Tandun District, Rokan Hulu Regency. Research using Mix Method or mixed method using qualitative and quantitative methods. The data obtained in the field is analyzed according to the type of data obtained. Qualitative descriptive analysis is used to analyze social aspects and t-test is used to analyze economic variables with income indicators of smallholders. Oil palm replanting in Kumain Village has been carried out in 2019 through government programs and cooperation between KUD Makarti Jaya with PTPN V. The results showed that there were changes in social aspects, especially aspects of work and lifestyle, while social interactions did not change much. The economic aspect showed a significant decrease in the income of smallholders, where the average income of smallholders before replanting was Rp 8.909.803 down to Rp 5.593.646. Smallholders' income is accumulated from oil palm income, non-farm income, and non-agricultural income. Efforts made by smallholders in dealing with rejuvenation include increasing livestock, working daily laborers and KUD laborers, odd jobs and opening businesses such as selling, opening car/motorcycle washes, and others. In addition, planters who have other gardens that are not rejuvenated rely on income from these gardens.
