Karakteristik Plastik Biodegradable Berbahan Dasar Pati Sagu Dengan Variasi Selulosa Pelepah Sawit
ABSTRACT
This study aims to obtain the best characteristics of biodegradable plastic made from sago starch with the addition of palm frond fiber cellulose. This research was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized method (CRD) with four treatments and four replications. The treatment in this study was the addition of cellulose fiber from palm fronds 10%, 20%, 30% and 40%. Tests carried out are thickness, tensile strength, elongation, water resistance, and biodegradation. The data obtained was analyzed statistically using analysis of variance (ANOVA). The addition of cellulose fiber in palm frond has a significant effect on thickness, tensile strength, elongation, air resistance and biodegradation. The best treatment in this study was the addition of 40% palm frond cellulose fiber with a thickness of 0.81 mm; tensile strength 19.21 MPa; elongation 5.68%, biodegradation 73.15% and air resistance 54.93%.
