ABSTRACT
Indonesia is one of the countries with the largest rubber production and palm oil exports in the world. Large production requires large utilization as well. Lack of utilization of a waste can cause accumulation which has the potential to have a negative impact on the environment. This study aims to determine the benefits of crumb rubber as an additive in an asphalt mixture of AC-WC types with palm ashes as a filler. The research was carried out using an experimental method in the laboratory by following the General Specifications of Highway 2018 (Revision 2 of 2020). The planned asphalt content in this test is 5%, 5.5%, 6%, 6.5% and 7%. Variation of crumb rubber is used 0%, 3%, and 6% by weight of asphalt and filler variations of palm bunch ash are used 4% by weight of the mixture. The results showed that the addition of 3% crumb rubber could be used to improve the quality of the asphalt mixture because it was able to increase the stability of the mixture and meet the parameter in the General Specifications of Highway 2018 (Revision 2 of 2020).
