Variabilitas Komponen Produksi Dan Karakter Vegetatif Uji Progeni Material Deli X Avros Kelapa Sawit (Elaeis Guineensis Jacq)Di Kabupaten Siak, Riau
This research was conducted to study the performance of Banting Dura x
Pisifera Avros (DxP) progenies on yield and oil analysis components that planted
on inland soil at Siak, Riau. Ten DxP progenies and two DxP controls were used
for this study. They were evaluated for fresh fruit bunch (FFB), fruit components
and oil content traits. FFB production for most of the progenies compare to the
control was reasonably comparable and good for inland soil, ranging from 153.38
to 197.14 kg palm-1 yr-1. The results of the analysis of variance showed no
significant difference between the progenies when compared to the controls. These
results indicated a lack of genetic variability for FFB and bunch number, except for
average bunch weight (ABW). This was also supported by the results of the low
phenotypic coefficient of variance (PCV), genotypic coefficients variation (GCV),
and heritability value (h2). However, genetic control was observed in fruit
components on oil analysis, for example, heritability for mesocarp to fruit (M/F)
and shell to fruit (S/F) variables contributed more than 60% to the phenotypic
character variation. Besides that, fruitlet size and kernel to fruit (K/F) also affect
the appearance of the phenotype by reaching above 40%. Low genetic variation in
other variables in all progenies will likely be an obstacle in future breeding
programs and in selection so that an introgression program is needed from the
germplasm collection owned to enrich and increase the genetic variation of all
observed progenies.
