ABSTRACT
This research was conducted at PT Cahaya Indah Sangsurya Pekanbaru, a company operating in the field of heavy equipment contractor and shipping charter sector since 1992. The purpose of this research was to to examine and analyze the effect of career development and remuneration on employee job satisfaction. The method used in this study is quantitative with a sample of 86 people as respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires. This study uses quantitative data processed by SPSS version 26 with multiple linear regression analysis models. The results showed that career development and remuneration simultaneously had a positive and significant effect on employee job satisfaction whre the F-stat values 51.357 > F-table 3.11, with a significance value of
0.00. In addition, the partial effect also shows that each variable has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction, where the greatest effect is the remuneration variable with a regression 0.519, where the t-stat 6.447 and a significance of 0.000; while the career development variable has a regression of 0.214, a t-stat of 6.447 and a significance of 0.008. It was concluded that the two variables contributed 54.2% to employee job satisfaction, while the rest 45.8% were influenced by other factors that were outside this research model. Thus there is a close relationship between employees’ job satisfaction, career development and remuneration at PT Cahaya Indah Sangsurya Pekanbaru.
