Evaluasi Data Curah Hujan Satelit Gpm (Global Precipitation Measurement) Terhadap Data Curah Hujan Kota Pekanbaru
ABSTRACT
Rainfall measurements at each observation station are point rainfall data, which are considered representative of rainfall for a certain radius. Due to high establishment and operational costs and difficult topography for mountainous areas, the number of rain observation stations is limited. Overcoming the lack of rain stations to provide reliable rainfall data can be achieved by using rainfall data from satellite observations. GPM (Global Precipitation Measurement) satellite is one of the satellites launched by NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) and JAXA (Japan Aerospace and Exploration Agency). Satellite rain data was tested against 2 (two) surface rain stations in Pekanbaru City, namely Pekanbaru Station and Sultan Syarif Kasim II Station. The evaluation includes the relationship of satellite rain data to surface rain data with statistical tests, namely the correlation coefficient (r), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Mann Whitney test and Coefficient of Determination (R2) and functional relationships in the form of simple linear equations using stepwise regression. The result of the evaluation is the r value of daily and monthly rain at Pekanbaru Station of 0.99 and 0.98. At Sultan Syarif Kasim II Station the r value is 0.99 and 0.99 because the rain data uses the weibull distribution method. After the rain data is corrected by using the daily rain data correction equation, namely RPKU = -0.9006 +0.7659 RGPM, after correction of the rain data, the RMSE and MAE values become smaller, and the correlation value of surface rain data with correction rain data obtained an r value of> 0.6, and the correlation value of satellite rain data with correction rain data for the results of the r value is 1 (classified as strong) or more than 0.6 so that correction rain data can be used.
