Analisis Neraca Air Pada Kesatuan Hidrologi Gambut (Khg) Sungai Enok-Sungai Batang Provinsi Riau
ABSTRACT
The Peat Hydrological Unit (PHU) of the Enok River and Batang River is one of the PHUs in Riau Province which is located in Indragiri Hilir Regency. This district has a high rate of land clearing for plantations and has many canals, if not properly controlled it can cause peatlands to degrade. Good water management needs to be done to keep the peat moist by knowing the water potential by analyzing the quantity of water balance in the peat area. The model used is Thornthwaite & Mather Water Balance. The analysis and discussion will examine the condition of the quantity of water balance at the level of the Enok River-Batang River Sub PHU which is calculated using the climatological water balance method and the land water balance method. The results of the analysis of the climatological water balance in the Enok River-Batang River PHU from 2018 to 2022 show that the wet months (surplus) are dominant. However, the results of land water balance analysis which has taken into account direct runoff discharge, the water potential decreases so that it is dominantly experiencing dry months (deficit). During 5 years the largest surplus volume occurred in Sub KHG 3 in October 2022, which was 80.52x106 m3 and the largest volume deficit occurred in February 2021 with a value of -50.47x106 m3. This study also correlates the results of the water balance model with change in groundwater level (GWL). The correlation results show a value below 0.5 which is a category of weak average relationship. This is due to the fact that measurements were only carried out at PT. Bumi Palma Lestari Persada (BPLP), which in 2020 to 2022 has implemented a good water management system. This causes the GWL data used as a correlation of water balance results to be less accurate.
