STUNTING PREVENTION HEALTH COMMUNICATION AT THE PERHENTIAN LUAS PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER KUANTAN SINGINGI REGENCY

Stunting cases until now are still the homework of the government in various regions in Indonesia. Perhentian Luas District is one of the areas with the highest cases of stunting in Kuantan Singingi Regency which continues to intensify preventive actions to achieve the prevalence target set by the Government of Indonesia in accordance with the standart of World Health Organization (WHO). The percentage of cases each years has decreased but until now it has not yet reached the target yet, to worried will make more worse of the situation. This research aims to find out how health communication is carried out by the Perhentian Luas Health Center in preventing cases of child stunting in Perhentian Luas District as well as the factor that support and hinder the implementation of the program.
This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach using the theory of innovation diffusion. Using a purposive technique. Types and sources of data obtained through primary data and secondary data. Data collection is done by interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques by reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. Furthermore, checking the validity of the data was carried out by extending participation and triangulation.
Based on the results of the research and discussion conducted, it can be seen that the socialization of the stunting prevention program was carried out through the process of diffusion of innovation in observing the community's response to stunting prevention activities. The results of the study showed that the program created by the Perhentian Broad Health Center in preventing stunting was implemented well by using two different communication channels to convey information to the public. In disseminating information about the 1000 HPK program it takes quite a long time to be accepted by the community. As well as the existence of economic, environmental factors, circulating myths that hinder the process of program acceptance in the community.
