Penanganan Segmen Jalan Rawan Kecelakaan Di Kota Pekanbaru
ABSTRACT
The Pekanbaru City Population and Civil Registration Service recorded that the population of Pekanbaru City in 2022 will reach 1,085,000 people. This figure has increased by 11 thousand people from 2021 which amounted to 1,074,000 people. An increase in population can cause many problems, especially transportation problems such as the high number of traffic accidents. Data from the Pekanbaru Police Traffic Unit for the last three years (2020 – 2022) recorded 558 accident cases. Therefore, in an effort to reduce accidents, it is necessary to screen traffic accident-prone locations and studies related to the handling of accident-prone road segments in Pekanbaru City. In this study, accident data was obtained from the Pekanbaru Police Traffic Unit for 3 years (2020-2022). From these data, a location screening was carried out using the Method of Moments and the Probability Of Specific Crash Types Exceeding Threshold Proportion Method. Two locations were obtained, namely Jalan Yos Sudarso Segment Km 22-23 and Jalan Yos Sudarso Segment Km 18-19. Both segments have traffic problems such as dominant conflicts changing lanes and slowing down in the same direction, the absence of accident-prone warning signs, caution signs, road markings, street nails, PJU and no speed limit sign as well as superelevation and inadequate visibility. Recommendations for handling that should be carried out on the Yos Sudarso Km 22-23 road segment are installation of caution signs and signs for accident-prone areas, construction of road markings, installation of Public Street Lighting (JPU), installation of road spikes and speed limit sign signs while on road segments Yos Sudarso Km 22-23 namely installation of caution signs and signs for accident-prone areas, installation of Public Street Lighting (JPU) installation of road spikes and speed limit sign signs.
