An Analysis Of Code-Mixing In The Novel “Laskar Pelangi” By Andrea Hirata
The researcher aims to describe the types of Code-mixing in the Novel “Laskar Pelangi” by Andrea Hirata. The research was conducted by using descriptive qualitative research. The data collection technique used is document analysis. The writer will collect data by reading, studying, analyzing all the data and underline the Code-mixing that occurs in the novel and found the reasons using Code-mixing in the novel “Laskar Pelangi” by using Hoffman theory. Based on the data analysis, there are 105 data from 34 chapters. The frequent type of code-mixing in the novel “Laskar Pelangi”. Intra Sentential Code-mixing appears 67 times (63,8%). Then the second frequency is Intra Lexical Code-mixing, which appears 38 times (36,2%). The last type of code-mixing an Involving Change of Pronunciation, the researcher did not find the data in the novel “Laskar Pelangi.
