Efek Ekstrak Inulin Umbi Dahlia Terhadap Histopatologi Aorta Torakalis Pada Tikus Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disorder predisposing to cardiovascular disease (CVD) due to atherosclerosis. Inulin be able to decrease blood glucose and lipid profiles, and it has antioxidant properties, so the administration of inulin extract of dahlia tuber is expected to inhibit the process of atherosclerosis in type 2 DM. The design of this study was an experimental laboratory with a post-induced control group design which was carried out from July-November 2023. Twenty Rats (Rattus norvegicus) male Wistar strain were divided into 5 groups; control group (I), type 2 DM group (II), type 2 DM group given 0,5 mg/gBW/day inulin extract (III), type 2 DM group given 1 mg/gBW/day inulin extract (IV), and type 2 DM group given 1,5 mg/gBW/day inulin extract (V). The result of this study showed that the highest mean score of lesions in the atherosclerosis group and there was a significant difference between the type 2 DM group given extract inulin then DM the type 2 group without extract inulin (p
