Pengaruh Gejala Gangguan Mental Emosional Terhadap Kualitas Hidup Mahasiswa Kedokteran Pascapandemi Covid-19
Symptoms of mental emotional disorders resulting from the complex interaction between various physical, psychological, and socio-cultural elements indicate a decompensation of the adaptation process that can occur as a consequence of the impact of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic. Medical education is considered one of the most academically and emotionally demanding disciplines, leading to the onset of depression and anxiety. Anxiety experienced by students during the pandemic is exacerbated by difficulties in following online learning, communicating with instructors, and developing clinical skills. Prolonged anxiety in college students can lead to changes in quality of life. This study aimed to determine the influence of symptoms of mental emotional disorders on the quality of life of medical students post-COVID-19 pandemic. This study was an analytical observational study with a cross-sectional method conducted at the Faculty of Medicine, Riau University from August to December 2023. The characteristics of research subjects based on gender were mostly female students with a percentage of 69.2%. The results showed that the percentage of students who did not experience symptoms of mental disorders was high (58.9%), while the quality of life of students resulted in an average score of 58.92. In conclusion, there was an influence of mental-emotional disorder symptoms on the quality of life (p=0.000).
