Profil Penatalaksanaan Hipospadia Dengan Teknik Slam (Slit-Like Adjusted Mathieu Technique)
Background : Hypospadias is a congenital anomaly characterized by the external
urethral opening located on the ventral side of the penis, proximal to the glans tip, from
the balanopreputial sulcus to the perineal area. This condition occurs due to delayed
fusion of the urethra during the first trimester of pregnancy. Hypospadias can be
corrected through surgical reconstruction, which is the only therapeutic option for
hypospadias.
Objective : To determine the profile of hypospadias management with the SLAM
technique at Arifin Achmad Regional Hospital, Riau Province, from July 2020 to July
2023.
Method : This study used a descriptive retrospective design. The research sample was
taken from the medical records of hypospadias patients who underwent management
at Arifin Achmad Regional Hospital, Riau Province, from July 2020 to July 2023, and
met the inclusion and exclusion criteria.
Results : Out of 82 patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the highest
number of diagnosed hypospadias cases was found in the age group of 6-11 years, with
22 patients (26.8%). The most common type of hypospadias found was posterior
hypospadias, with 55 cases (67.1%). The most common clinical manifestation
experienced by hypospadias patients was ectopic meatus, with 61 cases (68.5%). The
majority of hypospadias patients underwent the procedure only once, with 55 patients
(67.1%). The most common complication experienced by hypospadias patients was
infection, with 56 cases (47.9%). Almost all hypospadias patients, 79 patients (96.3%),
did not have any comorbidities.
