Profil Autopsi Warga Negara Asing Di Provinsi Riau Periode 2015-2023
Autopsy is a surgical procedure on a corpse that involves opening three holes, namely the head, chest, and abdominal cavities, to determine the cause of death, accompanied by a supporting examination if necessary. Autopsies can be carried out on both Indonesian citizens and foreign citizens. Foreign citizens who come to Indonesia for various purposes are not denied the opportunity to get sick or die. The autopsy must be performed on every foreign citizen who died to determine the cause of death, because the cause of death is required in the completion of the death certificate. A death certificate is one of the documents required for the return of foreigners to their native country. The aim of this research was to determine the autopsy profile of foreign nationals in Riau Province for the 2015-2023 period. The research design used was a descriptive retrospective study of data from death certificates, embalming certificates, autopsy reports, or Visum et Repertum, and autopsy request letters of foreign citizens at Bhayangkara Pekanbaru Hospital, with a sample size of 8 cases. The results of the study show that foreign citizens who were autopsied were male (100%), the majority of age was in the range 36-45 years (37.5%) and 46-55 years (37.5%), because most deaths were from could not be determined (37.5 %) and disease (37.5 %), the most common mode of death could not be determined (37.5 %) and natural deaths due to illness (37.5 %), and the largest country of origin based on the continent was the Asian continent (62.5%). The most requests for postmortems are from the Dumai resort police (50%), and the majority of foreign nationals' initial documents at autopsy were incomplete documents (62.5%). The conclusion of this research is that there are very few autopsy cases of foreign nationals in Riau Province for the 2015-2023 period and the case management has been carried out well by the Bhayangkara Pekanbaru Hospital. However, the archiving of the documents required for the repatriation of the bodies of foreigners to Bhayangkara Hospital is not optimal, so many of these documents were lost.
