Penanggulangan Penduduk Dan Gangguan Panjang Monyet Ekor (Macaca fascicularis) Di Sekitar Permukiman Kelurahan Belakang Balok Aur Birugo Tigo Baleh Kecamatan Kota Bukittinggi
The behavior of long-tailed monkeys naturally does not cause chaos if they live in their natural habitat and away from public life. Changes in monkey behavior to the point of causing conflict with humans may occur as a result of monkeys moving to areas close to community life. This research aims to estimate the population of long-tailed monkeys, describe disturbances and loss values and determine short-term and long-term efforts to overcome long-tailed monkey disturbances in Belakang Balok Village Aur Birugo Tigo Baleh District Bukittinggi City. The method used in this research was purposive sampling, by interviewing 42 people who had experienced long-tailed monkey disturbances and to determine the long-tailed monkey population using the concentration count method. Next, the data obtained was analyzed quantitatively descriptively. The research results showed that 3 groups of long-tailed monkeys had a density of 1.8 individuals/ha for group 1, a population density of 1.52 individuals/ha for group 2 and a population density of 1.12 individuals/ha. The disturbances include destroying houses, rummaging through trash cans and stealing food, while the impact caused by long-tailed monkeys is damage and harm to the community, where the loss caused by long-tailed monkeys in RW 1 amounts to IDR 490,000 while in RW 2 it amounts to IDR 940,000. Efforts made by the community to overcome the long-tailed monkey nuisance are divided into 2 periods, namely short term efforts such as not giving long tailed monkeys food, chasing them away with loud noises and not leaving the door of the house open, while long term efforts such as planting fruit-bearing trees in long-tailed monkey habitats, moving zoos and building fences.
