Down syndrome is a genetic disorder on 21th chromosome that causes physical and mental retardation. This syndrome affects cognitive abilities and skills in daily life. The prevalence of this disorder in Indonesia, including Pekanbaru, is increasing. Therefore, there is a need for a facility that can facilitate the support for the growth and development of children with Down syndrome in Pekanbaru. The application of Kenzo Tange's design principles in designing a rehabilitation center for children with Down syndrome in Pekanbaru provides advantages to the design. His design principles are renowned for their simplicity, making them suitable for a facility for children with Down syndrome. The design method used is the glassbox, which is the author's method of gathering and analyzing data/information external to the author, ensuring that the design is not subjective. Thus, the design of the rehabilitation center for children with Down syndrome in Pekanbaru is significant and objective.
