Art is an activity carried out by humans to express moods which can produce values of beauty and meaning which are expressed in various types of art such as drama, theater, music, fine arts, and so on. The development of the city of Pekanbaru is supported by three series of triangles in the economic sector as well as the growth of Malay arts and culture, with a strategic location that can connect three countries at once, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. Linear thinking with the intention that the design stages can be more consistent. The initial stages that must be started in this linear mindset are knowledge and programming, analysis, synthesis, and schematic design to create design results.
With the design of the Art Center in the city of Pekanbaru, it is hoped that it will become an icon for the city of Pekanbaru it self which has its characteristics towards the surrounding area, therefore this time the design uses an iconic architectural approach. The design of the Art Center is intended so that arts events and activities in the city of Pekanbaru have a new platform to accommodate arts activities so that they can develop further, especially in the city of Pekanbaru. The art center is also a facility that can be used as a means of entertainment and recreation for people in the Pekanbaru
