Perancangan Sekolah Luar Biasa Tunanetra (SLB-A) Di Kabupaten Kampar Dengan Pendekatan Arsitektur Perilaku
The special school for the visually impaired in Kampar Regency is an educational institution that provides specific facilities for children with visual impairments in the area. The limited vision in visually impaired children makes hearing and touch essential in the information acquisition process. Therefore, the design of a Special School for the Visually Impaired in Kampar Regency is crucial because the existing special schools in Kampar Regency currently cater to various categories of disabled individuals without prioritizing design and educational facilities specifically for visually impaired children. This is especially important considering their characteristics and behavior. The design of the special school for the visually impaired uses the People-centered Behavior Mapping method, which takes into account the specific behaviors of visually impaired children, and applies the principles of behavioral architecture as the foundation for design. Through the concept of behavioral architecture, the school building can meet the needs of the visually impaired in accordance with their behavioral patterns and characteristics in various aspects, including personality, language, physical, emotional, and social aspects. Building concept: "Secure" for visually impaired children, emphasizing safety and protection. The learning environment is designed to be easily recognizable, obstacle-free, creating a sense of security for them.
