Perancangan Terminal Bus Di Rantauprapat Dengan Pendekatan Eco-Culture
Rantauprapat City, Labuhanbatu Regency is located in a vital area because it is at the junction of Riau and West Sumatra provinces where this area is a link between development areas on the island of Sumatra. The existing bus terminal in Rantauprapat City, namely Padang Bulan Terminal, has stopped operating since 2017 which eventually made it abandoned and affected buildings such as material damage and the surrounding environment. Looking at the average population growth of Labuhanbatu Regency in the last 6 years of 1.23% and also the increase in the use of public transportation in the form of buses in Rantauprapat in the last 3 years of 45.74%. The system in the field of traffic and public transportation in Rantauprapat is currently less than optimal where there is no place to raise and lower passengers and supporting facilities and infrastructure for transportation in the form of public transportation, so the role of terminals in this area is needed as a transfer of passengers, modes of transportation, and other supporting functions. Based on Labuhanbatu Regency's motto, "Ika Bina En Pabolo" which means "It's Improved", the architectural approach used is Eco-Culture architecture, which is development and design oriented towards the balance of culture and nature. Eco-culture architecture can also support tourism development in the long term through a combination of cultural empowerment and environmental protection. The basic principles of the ecological building concept involve many components, including the management of buildings, the environment and human participation in harmonious development.
