Upaya Indonesia Dalam Mendukung Uniformed Gender Parity Strategy 2018-2028

This research analyzes Indonesia's efforts to support the Uniformed Gender Parity Strategy 2018-2028. The strategy was created by the Department of Peace Operations (DPO) to set targets for women in UN Peacekeeping Operations (UNPKO) and outlines how the DPO plans to reach those goals. Women are proven to have had a positive impact on the UNPKO. However, in implementation, there is a gender gap where the number of women is not comparable to men. One of the consequences of the gender gap in the UNPKO is the occurrence of sexual exploitation and abuse by male peacekeepers. Therefore, women's participation in the UNPKO is very important.
This study used qualitative research methods. The author uses data collection techniques through library research as a research assistant in collecting data or information by reading books, journals, websites, documents such as resolutions, press statements, meeting summaries, and other written materials related to the problem being studied.
The results of this research show that Indonesia succeeded in initiating Resolution 2538. Indonesia was elected to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2019-2020 period. Peacekeeping was one of Indonesia's priority issues during his term of office. Under the Indonesian Presidency, the UN Security Council succeeded in passing Resolution 2538 concerning female personnel in the UNPKO. This resolution is clear evidence of Indonesia's contribution to world peace, and is also the first resolution to specifically highlight the role of women in the UNPKO.
