"Keanekaragaman Jenis Lumut (Bryophyta) Di Kawasan Puncak Rajo Sago Kabupaten Tanah Datar Sebagai Rancangan Booklet Materi Keanekaragaman Hayati Kelas X"
Puncak Rajo Sago is one of the tourist areas located on the slopes of Mount Sago in Nagari Tanjung Bonai, North Lintau Buo District, Tanah Datar Regency, which is at an altitude of 200 - 750 meters above sea level, with an average temperature of 18-30ºC and rainfall. maximum rainfall 2500 mm/yr (Central Statistics Agency, 2021). Mount Sago has an area of 5,269 hectares with hilly topography. Most of Rajo Sago Peak is a mountain slope which is dominated by forest areas in natural conditions, however there are several forest areas which are used and processed by local people as plantations, and there are forest areas towards the edge of cliffs which have been built as tourist attractions and campsites. Humid areas are the perfect habitat for moss plants and the presence of moss plays an important role in maintaining the stability of the ecosystem in the Puncak Rajo Sago area.
The Puncak Rajo Sago area is one of the important areas for ecosystem balance in the Tanjuang Bonai village, Tanah Datar district. So conservation needs to be carried out to maintain the sustainability of both the flora and fauna that inhabit the area. The lack of publicity regarding this area is also still a problem so there is still not much information about the potential of this area, especially the moss plants that inhabit this area. Therefore, this research was carried out to determine the diversity of moss plant species in the Puncak Rajo Sago area and the results of this research are expected to be a source of information in the design of the class X SMA biodiversity material booklet. This research was carried out in August - December 2023 using the method path transects in moss sampling and the ADDIE development model in booklet design.
Determination of observation locations was carried out using purposive sampling, namely based on certain scientific considerations, namely by considering the relationship between sampling locations and variations in vegetation and local community activities. Environmental conditions and community activities in the Puncak Rajo Sago area include community/tourist activities, campsites and plantations, so the sampling locations were determined at 3 stations, namely the orange plantation area (station 1), tourist/camping area (station 2), forest area (station 3). Moss samples are taken by cutting the outer skin of the tree trunk if the moss sample is found on a tree with the maximum criteria being 1.5m high from the ground surface, if it is found on the ground and on rocks it is taken by scraping very carefully so that the specimen is not damaged. Sampling was carried out using 5 x 5 meter plots totaling 5 plots.
The parameters observed in this research include biological parameters consisting of the diversity index (H'). physico-chemical parameters include air temperature, soil pH, air humidity, and light intensity which are measured at each research location.
The results of this research show that the diversity of moss plant species in the Puncak Rajo Sago area amounts to 19 moss species, namely Cheilelojeunea ceylanica, Vesicularia sp, Hypnum cupressiforme, Isopterygium minutriameum, Bazzania trilobata, Mnium hornum, Thuidium delicatulum, Pelekium velatum, Barbula indica, Radula complanata, Lejeunea trinitensis, Riccardia indica, Brachymenium indicum, Leptodyctyum riparium, Dumortiera hirsuta, Marchantia polymorpha, Octoblepharum albidum, Thuidium kiesense, and Polytrichum strictum. The highest diversity index is found at location 3 (forest area) with a value of 2.801, which is classified as medium scale, indicating that the species at a station are abundant. Furthermore, the results of this research will be used as a booklet design that can be used in the biology learning process, especially biodiversity material for class X SMA.
