Pertumbuhan Dan Produksi Jagung Manis (Zea Mays Saccharata Sturt.) Sebagai Tanaman Sela Pada Kebun Kelapa Sawit Tbm 2 Pada Tanah Dystrudepts Yang Diaplikasikan Pupuk Hijau MB (Mucuna bracteata) Dan Pupuk NPK
Land utilization can be done by planting other crops in between oil palm plantations during the TBM 2 period. Intercrops that can be cultivated are sweet corn. Sweet corn production has decreased due to land conversion, so efforts are needed to increase production, both land use and provision of plant nutrients. Another obstacle is that the available land is marginal land such as Dystrudepts. Efforts to improve soil fertility and meet plant nutrient needs include adding Mucuna bracteata and NPK green fertilizer. The addition of organic matter to the soil can improve soil structure, increase aggregate stability, increase the ability to store water and reduce the soil's sensitivity to erosion, as well as being a source of energy for microorganisms. NPK fertilizer is a fertilizer that contains macro nutrients, namely N, P and K, which function to support plant growth and development.
Research iThis aims to study the interaction, the main effects of Mucuna bracteata green manure, NPK and obtain a combination that produces the highest production of sweet corn. The research was carried out in Kembang Damai Village, Pagaran Tapah Darussalam District, Rokan Hulu Regency from April to July 2023. The research was conducted experimentally using a factorial randomized block design, where factor I was the provision of fertilizergreen Mucuna bracteata which consists of 3 levels, namely 2 kg/m2, 4 kg/m2 and 6 kg/m2. Factor II is the administration of NPK which consists of 3 levels, namely 48 g/m2, 96 g/m2 and 144 g/m2, so there are 9 treatment combinations and this is repeated 3 times, so there are 27 experimental units.
Observed parameters amount of chlorophyll, photosynthesis rate, transpiration rate, stomatal conductivity, and CO2 concentration in cells, plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, when female flowers appear, harvest age, weight of cobs with husks, weight of cobs without husks, and number of rows of seeds. The variance data was further tested using Duncan's multiple distance test at the 5% level.
The results showed that there was an interaction between Mucuna bracteata and NPK green manure treatment on parameterswhen female flowers appear, harvest age and cob weight differed, but not other parameters. The application of Mucuna bracteata green fertilizer had a significant effect on the time the female flowers appeared, the age of harvest, and the weight of the husk cobs. NPK fertilizer has a significant effect on the harvest age and weight of husk cobs.
Providing Mucuna bracteata green manure 12.5 t.ha-1 and NPK 0,2 t.ha-1 is a combination that provides higher production results in the weight parameter of husk cobs, namely 527,833 g per plant.
