Keanekaragaman Mamalia di Taman Hutan Raya Sultan Syarif Hasyim, Provinsi Riau
Mammals have an important role in maintaining ecosystem balance. Grand Forest Park SSH is one of the conservation areas in Riau Province with various functions such as water catchment areas, carbon absorbers, oxygen producers, recreational facilities and flora and fauna conservation. This research aims to determine the diversity of mammal species in the Sultan Syarif Hasyim Grand Forest Park, Riau Province. Mammal data collection was carried out on a 500 m long route and 6 observation routes were determined. The width of the observed path is 20 m, of which 10 m is right and 10 m is left. Observations of large mammals are carried out twice a day on the paths that have been made. Non-volan small mammals (mammals that cannot fly) are obtained using traps. For flying mammals, traps in the form of mist nets are used. Data were analysed using the formulas for the Shannon-Wiener Diversity Index (H'), Margalef Diversity Index, and Importance Value Index. The diversity of mammal species in Sultan Syarif Hasyim Forest Park found 12 mammal species from 8 families. The mammal species diversity index in the Sultan Syarif Hasyim Grand Forest Park is in the medium category with a value of 1.75 and the mammal species richness index value in the Sultan Syarif Hasyim Grand Forest Park is in the medium category with a value of 2.88.
