Karakteristik Habitat Lebah Kelulut (Trigona Spp.) Di Hutan Adat Ghimbo Pomuan Kecamatan Kampa Kabupaten Kampar
Trigona bees are one of the honey-producing stingless bee species from the Apidae family. Continuous availability of food is one of the conditions supporting the development of bee colonies and honey production. This study aims to determine the habitat characteristics of kelulut bees (Trigona spp.) in the Ghimbo Pomuan Customary Forest, Kampa District, Kampar Regency. Observations of habitat characteristics include temperature and humidity, altitude, food sources, bee species, and beehive characteristics. The method used is the survey method at the location of kelulut cultivation. The results showed that there were 3 types of kelulut bees, Heterotrigona itama, Heterotrigona bakeri, and Geniotrigona thoracica with 22 types of bee food sources dominated by the Fabaceae family. Temperature and humidity in Ghimbo Pomuan are tolerant to itama and bakeri bees, providing ample opportunities for the development of honey beekeeping.
