Pengembangan Multimedia Pembelajaran Interaktif Bermuatan Education Games Terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Siswa Pada Materi Sistem Pencernaan Mata Pelajaran Biologi Kelas XI SMA/MA
One way to be able to have quality human resources and have competitiveness in facing competition in the era of globalization is to improve the quality of education. One of the supports for the creation of quality education is the use of media in learning. The use of learning media aims to make material that is difficult to understand easier to be understood. Based on observations at MAN 2 Kuantan Singingi, it is known that the digital learning media that has ever been used by teachers is in the form of powerpoint which only contains text and images. The use of digital learning media should be further enhanced at this time, so that students can do learning anytimeand anywhere even though they do not interact directly with the teacher.
Interactive multimedia is a computer-based learning media that contains various kinds of content such as images, videos, texts, graphics, animations and sound effects accompanied by menus/instructions as a means of obtaining information. Interactive multimedia can be used as a learning medium that plays a role in improving student understanding. There are various types of interactive multimedia, including interactive multimedia with educational games. Interactive Learning Multimedia based on educational games is media that in addition to combining several media in one application is also equipped with interesting games. Given that in this age of globalization, children prefer to play games rather than learn, so integrating games in the learning process is the right strategy. The use of interactive learning multimedia based on this educational game becomes easier because it can be operated using a cellphone or computer, so that its use is not limited to place or time.
Based on the results of the critical thinking-based pre-test conducted on class XI students of MAN 2 Kuantan Singingi in biology learning, the results show that students' critical thinking skills are still relatively low. Based on the results of the analysis of students' critical thinking skills, innovation is needed in the development of learning media that can improve students' critical thinking skills.
This study aims to determine the quality of interactive learning multimedia with education games and its effect in improving students' critical thinking skills. The research was developed at the biology education study program of FKIP Riau University and was implemented at MAN 2 Kuantan Singingi. This research uses the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The analysis stage, consists of analyzing the curriculum, students' needs, learning materials, and teaching materials. The design stage, namely preparing learning tools, interactive learning multimedia design, and preparing research instruments. The development stage, namely developing products by conducting validation tests (material, media, and pedagogical experts), limited trials (one-on-one trials and small-scale trials), and teacher practicality tests. The implementation stage, namely conducting a large-scale trial in the form of applying interactive learning multimedia with educational games on the material of the digestive system to 20 students of class XI MAN 2 Kuantan Singingi. The evaluation stage, namely product evaluation at each stage.
The development results in the validity test obtained a value of 94% with a very valid category, this was obtained based on the material expert test value of 92%, the media expert test value of 99%, the pedagogical expert test value of 91%. Furthermore, the development results in the practicality test received a score of 94% with a very practical category. This was obtained based on the one-on-one trial value of 92%, the small-scale trial value of 93%, and the teacher practitioner expert test value of 97%. The research results at the implementation stage obtained sig 0.000 < sig 0.05, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted.
Based on these data, it can be concluded that the results of the development of the final product show that the interactive learning multimedia with education games developed has very good quality with an average percentage value of 94% and there is an effect of interactive learning multimedia with education games on students' critical thinking skills on the material of the digestive system in class XI SMA / MA biology subjects.
