Penerapan Model Problem Based Learning Untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Matematika Siswa Kelas Xi IPA SMA IT Al-Fityah Pekanbaru

This research is a classroom action research that aims to improve the learning process and increase students' mathematics learning outcomes by applying the Problem Based Learning model. The subjects of this study were 22 students of class XI IPA SMA IT Al – Fityah Pekanbaru in the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year with heterogeneous academic abilities. This research consists of two cycles with each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research instruments used were learning devices and data collection instruments. The learning tools consisted of a syllabus, lesson plans and student activity sheet. The data collection instruments consisted of observation sheets and learning outcomes tests. The observation sheets was analyzed by means of descriptive narrative and the students mathematics learning outcomes test was analyzed by means of descriptive statistics. Narrative descriptive analysis showed an improvement in the learning process and descriptive statistical analysis showed that students mathematics learning outcomes improved. The percentage of the frequency of students who reached the KKM increased from the base score with a percentage of 45.45% (10 students) to 63.63% (14 students) in daily test I, and 77.27% (17 students) in daily test II.. The results of this study indicate that the application of the Problem Based Learning model can improve the learning process and increase student’s mathematics learning outcomes of class XI IPA SMA IT Al-Fityah Pekanbaru in the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year on sequence content.
