Keanekaragaman Kumbang (Coleoptera) Di Kampus Bina Widya Universitas Riau Sebagai Buku Saku Pada Materi Keanekaragaman Hayati Kelas X Sma
Beetles are the common name of the Order Coleoptera. Coleoptera can be used as a natural indicator to determine whether the area is still good or not. Several types of beetles can help pollinate and decompose plant remains such as leaf litter and dead trees. Several species of Coleoptera act as plant pests and will usually attack almost all parts of the plant. Some Coleoptera are predators of other insects. Coleoptera are insects that are very useful as decomposers of organic material and play an important role in the nutrient cycle. The important role of Coleoptera in the soil and surface layers in the ecosystem is to convert organic material into humus. Plant nutrients from various plant residues undergo a decomposition process to form humus as a source of soil nutrients, and several Coleoptera can be used as indicators of soil fertility in the Bina Widya Campus area of Riau University.
The aim of this research is to determine the diversity of Coleoptera on the Bina Widya Campus, University of Riau and to integrate the results of this research to be used as a draft pocket book on Biodiversity material for class X high school biology learning. This research was conducted in May-July 2023. This research consists of of two stages. The first stage is identifying the type of Coleoptera based on its morphological characteristics, then continuing with calculating the diversity index of the species obtained. The second stage is designing a pocket book by integrating the research results obtained. This research uses the Purposive Randome Sampling method by looking at the environmental tone which is divided into 4 stations, namely Station I is in the Arboretum, Station II is in the multi-purpose forest and Station III is in the Natural Biology Education Laboratory, Station IV is in the Faperika forest. The model used in designing this pocket book, namely the ADDIE model, forms a cycle consisting of 5 stages consisting of: analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. However, in this research, the stages that will be developed by researchers are only up to the stage of developing the product that will be produced. The following is a schematic image of the stages of development of the ADDIE model developed by Dick & Carry.
The conclusion of this research is that the diversity of Coleoptera species found in the Bina Widya Dictionary at Riau University was found to be 8 families, 18 species and 368 individuals, with a diversity index at station I Arboretum of 2.5, at station II Multipurpose Forest with an index value of 2.39, at station III Lab. Biology Education Nature with an index value of 2.38 and at station IV Faperika Forest with an index value of 2.38. At each research station in the Bina Widya Dictionary, Riau University, the diversity of Coleoptera is classified in the medium category (2.41).
The Coleoptera diversity index found in the Bina Widya Dictionary at the University of Riau can be used as a pocket book design as a resource for studying biodiversity in high school class X, identifying levels of biodiversity.
