Pengembangan Ensiklopedia Elektronik Berbasis Mind Mapping Pada Materi Virus Sebagai Media Pembelajaran Siswa Sma Kelas X

21st Century Education is education based on science and technology. There have been many studies that show that the educational process that tends to be adaptive to technological sophistication has better and significant results compared to the educational process that tends to be old. This change in educational patterns is one of the characteristics of the era of globalization or called the era of openness (era of oppenes), this is evidenced by the development of Science and Technology (technology)).
Virus material is one of the subjects or fields of biology studies found in class X high school. In the independent curriculum, the virus material is contained in Learning Objectives (TP) 10.2. Virus learning has been considered difficult because it learns abstract things so that the level of understanding and student learning outcomes of this virus material is also still low. Based on the results of the pre-survey, the teacher stated that the virus material is a biological material that is difficult for students to understand because this virus material is abstract. In addition, learning media on the subject of viruses is still carried out conventionally. For learning media used by teachers in schools, it is still limited to package books, power points, learning videos, and LKPD. Because the learning media used is still conventional and not innovative and has not been designed in electronic form. So researchers developed innovative learning media to increase students' understanding of viral material, namely in the form of an electronic encyclopedia based on mind mapping that can be easily accessed, an attractive display in the form of a flipbook and not only glued to text, but able to display images, videos, audio, hyperlinks, and videos from YouTube and others so that learning becomes less monotonous and can help students visualize abstract material.
The research was carried out in the Biology Education Study Program and limited trials were carried out on Biology Teachers of SMAN 7 Pekanbaru and SMAN 12 Pekanbaru and grade X students of SMAN 8 Pekanbaru. The research period will take place from September to November 2023. This type of research is development research with the ADDIE model. The research procedure begins with the analysis stage which includes analysis of the curriculum, analysis of learning materials and learning tools. Then proceed with the design stage and the development stage of a mind mapping-based electronic encyclopedia.After the results of a complete mind mapping-based electronic encyclopedia, validation is carried out by validators to see the validity of electronic encyclopedia development. Furthermore, a limited trial phase I was carried out on teachers to determine the response and response of teachers to the electronic encyclopedia that had been developed and also carried out phase II trials on students of SMAN 8 Pekanbaru to determine student responses to the electronic encyclopedia that had been developed. The instruments used to collect data are validation sheets and respondent questionnaires. The research data was collected by filling out validation sheets and respondent questionnaire sheets.
Based on the results of data analysis, the average validation results of the electronic encyclopedia based on the three aspects are 3.80 with a very valid category. The results of the phase I trial on 4 high school biology teachers obtained an average score of 92.31% in the very good category. In the phase II trial on 20 students of SMAN 8 Pekanbaru as a whole obtained an average score of 88.31% in the very good category. Thus, it can be concluded that the mind mapping-based electronic encyclopedia on viral material for grade X high school students has been successfully developed and obtained very valid categories and obtained very good response results from teachers and students who have used mind mapping-based electronic encyclopedias and mind mapping-based electronic encyclopedias can be used as media and learning resources for biology.
